Okanagan Fruit Tree Project

Non-profit that connects volunteers with backyard fruit trees, orchards, and farms across the Central and South Okanagan. Two ways to get involved: (1) Gleaning — volunteers harvest fruit and vegetables from trees and gardens. Harvest is split three ways between the tree owner, volunteers, and community organizations including food banks and schools. (2) Farm volunteering — help plant, weed, and harvest at their 1/2-acre farm in East Kelowna (onions, potatoes, carrots, kale, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and more). Volunteers take home produce on the day they help. Open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Register online to receive emails about upcoming harvests and farm days.
